Over 30,000 people from our community have received services
from the Doctors' Volunteer Clinic since its opening in 1999.
Many of these patients are children with contagious upper respiratory
infections and fevers for whom medication is necessary and yet
for some unobtainable.

"It is a rare community who demonstrates responsibility
for the improvement of their community's health in such a manner
as The Doctors' Volunteer Clinic of St. George, without seeking
government funding," says Tony Young of the National Free
Clinic Association. "Free Clinics across the nation continue
to have a significant impact on the improved
health of communities and greatly benefit the communities they
serve."

"I have four young children,
all under the age of ten. I was laid off from my job and
didn't have health insurance even when I was working. My
daughter became ill and was running high fevers, and my
wife and I just didn't know what to do, except to take her
to the emergency room. After they treated her a caseworker
told us about the Doctors Volunteer Clinic, and we were
so relieved that we could be assured that our family would
be cared for until I could find new work. Though I am now
back to work, it is for a company that does not offer its
employees health coverage. Until I can find an option for
my family I donate as much as I can to the clinic and utilize
their services for my family's health care needs. Without
them, I would be in a constant state of fear for my family's
future." They are simply great.

"Thanks from the bottom of my heart.
I have never been treated so well as I was in your clinic.
Nobody made me feel bad because I had no insurance and everyone
from the ladies in the front to the doctor who treated me
both times I came to the clinic, was very sincere. It makes
me want to volunteer my time. Let me know what I can do!
I might not be able to type or file, but I'm more than happy
to wash windows or clean the waiting area. When I get back
to work, I will send a donation. Thanks again for what you
do for St. George!"
