Over 30,000 people from our community have received services from the Doctors' Volunteer Clinic since its opening in 1999. Many of these patients are children with contagious upper respiratory infections and fevers for whom medication is necessary and yet for some unobtainable. In the last year, 2009, the Clinic has experienced a 30% growth in patient visits. Many have lost jobs due to the economy or have been denied coverage due to pre-existing conditions. Our clinic sees approximately 50 patients per day and more during the cold and flu season. We are very thankful to many volunteers who allow our clinic to operate on a budget of approximately $150,000 per year with 2 full time and 3 part time employees and over 50 volunteers from the community.
